BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 148 over Cypress Bayou Tributary in Jackson Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, beginning Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the LA 148 bridge over the Cypress Bayou Tributary in Jackson Parish will be closed for replacement.

This bridge is located approximately 1.0 mile east of the intersection with US 167 (see included map).

The closure is anticipated to last approximately four (4) months, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that may impact construction timelines.

DOTD is sending out this notification on behalf of the Office of Louisiana Highway Construction (OLHC), which is managing construction activities for this project, H.016494 DIST04/05 BRIDGE BUNDLE SFY25-26.

Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Alternate Route: Appropriate detour signage will be in place.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
