State Champion Quitman Takes Top 1B All-District Honors in Softball

Maggie Guyotte
District 1B MVP

When Maggie Guyotte walked off the field at Frasch Sports Complex in Sulphur, LA, for the final time in her stellar six-year career, she left as a three-time state champion. She also exited as the all-time hits and RBI leader in LHSAA history, second in most home runs.

Accolades earned this year are being named an “Aaron’s Ace” and “446 Sports Player of the Game”, while also having a feature article written on her by Geaux Preps. The Louisiana Tech signee has been named Class B All-State three times already, with a fourth nod coming, and has now been selected to the 1B All-District First Team for the fourth straight year, including being named the 2026 Most Valuable Player.

After winning the district title for the sixth year in a row without a loss, Quitman High School head softball coach Justin Dodson was named Coach of the Year, giving the “three-peaters” a clean sweep of 1B All-District honors.

Proving the team’s depth, Quitman had five other players make first-team All-District: Hallie Kate Pullig, Kinsley Ponder, Anna Leach, Brenna Lamkin, Briley Bowers, and Zoee Williams, with two more, Avery Watson and Amelia Staggs, earning Honorable Mention Designation.

Weston High School had Teegan Hall, Kate Keiffer, and Rachel Bandy named first team 1B All-District, with Carlynn Waters, Tessa Reeves, Carly Jo Griffin, and Davynee Bearden all receiving Honorable Mention.
