
The Town of Jonesboro Board of Aldermen held a Special Called Meeting on Thursday, May 28, during which two Ordinances addressing budget concerns were introduced, and a Resolution was adopted.
The first Ordinance to be introduced was #2025-004A – Amending Operating Budget of Revenues and Expenditures for the General Fund for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026.
This was followed by board members Robbie Siadek, Devin Flowers, Robert Hunter, Tracy Ginn, and Nia Evans introducing Ordinance# 2026-017 – Adopting an Operating Budget of Revenues and Expenditures for the General Fund for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30,
2027.
A Resolution regarding the usage of the one million dollar grant from LWI to enhance the Town of Jonesboro Drainage project to alleviate flooding on Cedar and Talbert Street and replace the bridge that had been damaged by fire was then adopted.
A discussion about certain steps needed to protect the town from employees and Jonesboro Police Department officers leaving for other opportunities after the town invested in their training took place before the session was adjourned.
