The Jackson Parish Library (JPL) announces that not one but TWO have been selected as Artists of the Month for June. What makes the “twice as nice” choosing special is that both are members of the Holden family, and both are young students at Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School.

Please join the administration and staff of the JPL in congratulating 5th grader Zephaniah-Joshua Holden and Elizabeth Holden, who was in Kindergarten this past school year. The creations of both of these talented young artists can be viewed at the Main Branch of the Jackson Parish Library, located at 614 South Polk Street in Jonesboro.

Summer Reading Program Schedule for June 8-11

A full week of activities and programming awaits those who are taking part in the Jackson Parish Summer Reading Program. The exciting week for fun and education begins on Monday, June 8, with Author Carmen Echols being at the Chatham Branch at 10:00 am and at the Jonesboro Branch at 2:00 pm.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 9 & 10, representatives of the Jackson Parish 4-H and LSU AgCenter will be in Jonesboro at 10:00 am and in Chatham at 2:00 pm. The week of activity climaxes on Thursday and Friday, June 11 & 12, when Magician David LeBoeuf gives a show at Chatham at 2:00 pm on Thursday followed by being in Jonesboro on Friday for shows at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
