In the tightest finish of the year, the team of Blake Smith, Ian Tilley, Gary Nunn, Brandon Joyner, and Gabriel Johnson was declared the winner of the Tuesday Scramble held at the Jackson Parish Golf Course (JPGC) on June 9th by a scorecard playoff that had to go three holes to decide.

Relegated to second place after also shooting a round of 8 under par at the nine-hole tournament were Tommy Cruse, Glen Kirkland, Bretton Williams, Sawyer Barham, and Cecil Barham, with Dwayne “Snook” Harrell, David Chestnut, Roby Surber, Eddie Gaines, Jesse Gates, and Jonathan Long shooting 7 under par to finish in third place.

Each Tuesday, the Jackson Parish Golf Course hosts the “Tuesday Scramble,” where teams are paired by handicap and play nine holes of golf in a scramble format where each player hits a tee shot, and then each player on the team hits the next shot from the best shot available, and so on until the hole is finished. To register for the next tournament, call the JPGC Pro Shop at (318) 259-7247 or sign up on the day of the tournament at least one hour before play begins.

JPGC Launches New Online Tee Time Booking System

The Jackson Parish Golf Course is excited to announce the launch of a new Online Tee Time Booking System through foreUP. The system is now LIVE, so you can start booking tee times for this weekend and any day of the week going forward!

The link can be accessed by going to Jprec.org, hitting the Jackson Parish Golf Course tab, and clicking “Book a Tee Time” or by going to https://foreupsoftware.com/index.php/booking/23110/12853…
The link will also be posted on the Jackson Parish Golf Course Facebook and Instagram pages.

“One of the goals we set last year is finally a reality. Tons of work put into this, and we are very excited about this new addition,” said JPGC Manager Clay Williams. “We believe it will be another great step forward for all golfers, but PLEASE be patient if any issues occur, as the pro shop staff is still new to the system.”

A couple of things to note:

You still do not need a tee time on WEEKDAYS (Monday-Thursday), but you can now lock in a time on those days if you would like.

You MUST make tee times on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. You can now do that through our website, or you can still call us at the pro shop, and we can take care of the rest!

MEMBERS will be able to book tee times 7 days in advance on the website. MEMBERS, once you have created an account on the website, PLEASE let Club Manager, Clay Williams, or the pro shop staff know so you can be logged in to the system and granted Member permissions. You will only be able to book a tee time under “PUBLIC” until you follow those steps.
