AHEC Students Gain Hands-On Experience at Jackson Parish Hospital

Jackson Parish Hospital was proud to host students from the North Louisiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) from June 1st to 19th as part of their summer rotation, allowing them to explore a future in healthcare through real-world, hands-on experiences.

Throughout their time, students rotated through several areas of the hospital, including Acute Care, ER, PT/OT, Radiology, the Business Office, Case Management, and Endoscopy. They also had the opportunity to follow Dr. Ed Mariano in the hospital and gain additional insight into the Lab, Pharmacy, and Respiratory departments.

Programs like AHEC offer students a meaningful look into healthcare careers, allowing them to learn, ask questions, and experience firsthand what it means to care for others.

“We are proud to play a role in inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals right here in our community. A special thank you to all of our staff who took the time to support and encourage these students throughout their visit. Your impact truly makes a difference!” – JPH Administration
