
Ashley (McGrew) Modisette
April 2, 1986 – June 25, 2026

Ashley Lucille Modisette, age 40, of Chatham, Louisiana, passed away at her residence on June 25, 2026. A devoted Christian, Ashley’s faith in her Lord and Savior was the foundation of her life and a source of strength and comfort to those around her. Affectionately known as “Bubba” by her family and friends, she was known for her kind heart, infectious personality, and her ability to see the good in everyone she met.
Ashley embraced life with enthusiasm, whether she was enjoying a shopping trip, creating arts and crafts, singing along to her favorite songs by Britney Spears, NSYNC, and New Kids on the Block, or sharing her impressive knowledge of movies with anyone willing to listen. Above all, Ashley was a loving mother and devoted family member whose greatest joy came from the people she loved. Her warmth, compassion, and genuine goodness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ashley is survived by her husband, Mitchell R. Modisette; children, Ava, Ryken and Leighton “Shuggy” Modisette; mother, Bee Truelove; brother, Mikel Staples (Jennifer); sisters, Angel Driskell (Brian) and Lacy McGrew; in-laws, Ray and Stacey Modisette; father, Phillip McGrew, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip McGrew, Jr.; maternal grandparents, E.L. and Lucille Truelove; and paternal grandparents, Annie and James McGrew.
The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM at Caney Lake Baptist Church near Chatham on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Bro. Lance Otwell will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery (LA Hwy 151) near Dubach under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Truelove, Johnny Truelove, Roger Truelove, Caleb Allison, Tommy Green and Dustin Ashalintubbi. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Stewart and Lucas Truelove.
Norman Davis Bennett
January 26, 1963 – June 23, 2026

Norman Davis Bennett, age 63, of Quitman, Louisiana, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Monroe, Louisiana. A hardworking man with a generous heart, Norman found joy in life’s simple pleasures and the people he loved most. He shared many adventures with his wife, Ann, as they traveled the country together as cross-country truck drivers, creating countless memories along the open road.
When he wasn’t working, Norman could often be found fishing, cooking a meal for family and friends, or tending the grill. He was a devoted grandfather who treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and a loving dog owner whose faithful companions brought him great happiness. Norman will be remembered for his warm spirit, his love of family, and the many lives he touched through his kindness and friendship.
He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Ann (Marin) Bennett; children, Tina Guyotte, James Norris, Miranda Bennett, Jessie Bennett and Davis Bennett; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Norman was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Norris; his father, Davis Bennett; and his mother, Jessie (Gillhart) Bennett.
As per Norman’s wishes, he will be cremated. His family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home to help defray the expenses associated with his cremation.
Wayne Donell Reeves
July 1, 1940 – June 21, 2026

Wayne “Donell” Reeves was born to Bryant and Odessa Reeves, July 1, 1940, in Hargis, Louisiana, and passed away on June 21, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by parents, brother Carroll David Reeves and a son, John Arthur “Jay” Huckaby, and his wife of 19 years, Joan Cummings Reeves.
He is survived by brothers Kenneth of Verda and Jack (Gloria), of Georgetown, and a sister, Deveda Roberts (Lanny) of Moss Bluff. He is also survived by a son, Darell Reeves of Montgomery, a daughter, Darlene Martin (Earl) of Sulphur, a son, David Lee Huckaby (Stacey) of Winnfield, and a daughter-in-law, Beckie from Ruston. He leaves behind grandsons, Cody Stroud (Taylor) of Westlake, and John David and Wayne Curtis of Winnfield as well as granddaughters, Megan Miller (Jay) of Lake City, Florida, and Rachel Huckaby of Ruston. He also leaves 5 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield on Friday, June 26, with Bro. Frank Peacock officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Pallbearers wereJohn David Huckaby, Wayne Curtis Huckaby, Truitt Reeves, Joshua Roberts, Lanny Roberts, and Trenton Smith.

March 24, 1956 – June 19, 2026

Born on March 24, 1956, Bobbie Ray Williams gained his heavenly wings on June 19, 2026 at the age of 70 years old. His life celebration service was held on Saturday, June 27th at the Paradise Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, LA.
