Rick Barlow Seeks Re-Election to Jackson Parish School Board in District 3

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Residents of Jackson Parish,

After much prayer, thoughtful consideration, and encouragement from my family, friends, and members of our community, I am honored to announce that I am seeking re-election to the Jackson Parish School Board to continue serving the citizens of District 3, home of Weston High School.

Weston is more than just the school I represent; it is part of my family’s legacy. My father graduated from Weston High School in the Class of 1961, I graduated in the Class of 1986, and my son proudly graduated in the Class of 2011. Three generations of my family have walked the halls of Weston, and that gives me a deep appreciation for the traditions, values, and opportunities our school has provided. Serving the school and community that have meant so much to my family is a responsibility I cherish.

Public service has been the foundation of my life. I proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1987 to 2009 as a Flight Medic, where I also spent many years as an instructor. Those experiences taught me the importance of leadership, accountability, teamwork, and investing in others.

Since retiring from the Air Force, I have worked as a Loss Control Representative in the commercial insurance industry. Every day I evaluate risks, solve problems, and help businesses protect their people and resources. Those experiences have strengthened my ability to make thoughtful, responsible decisions—qualities I bring to the School Board.

Serving District 3 has been one of the greatest honors of my life. During my first term, I have worked to make decisions based on what is best for our students, teachers, families, and taxpayers. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, every educator deserves our support, and every tax dollar should be managed with honesty, transparency, and accountability.

While we have made meaningful progress, there is still important work to do. I remain committed to supporting academic excellence, maintaining safe schools, being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars, and ensuring that Weston High School and all of District 3 continue to thrive.

I would be deeply honored to earn your trust and your vote for a second term on the Jackson Parish School Board. I ask for your prayers, your support, and your vote as we continue working together to provide the very best education and opportunities for the children of District 3.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving this community that my family has proudly called home for generations. May God continue to bless Weston High School, District 3, Jackson Parish, and each of you.

Sincerely,

Rick Barlow
