The public is invited to join representatives from Smurfit Westrock in Hodge, LA, and Town of Jonesboro officials, along with over 300 youth from Boys and Girls Clubs across North Louisiana, on Thursday, July 16th, at the McDonald Recreation Center, located at 400 Jeffress Street, for a special financial presentation that will be made to the Town of Jonesboro Boys & Girls Club.
The event is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. and will commemorate a new partnership with Smurfit Westrock and the Jonesboro Boys & Girls Club to support the future of our community through a major investment in local youth. This partnership will help expand the Boys & Girls Club facility, increasing its capacity to serve more children and providing additional opportunities for education, mentorship, recreation, and personal development. The investment reflects a shared commitment to creating a stronger future for the young people of Jonesboro.
Mayor J. Spike Harris expressed his appreciation for the partnership, stating, “Investing in our children is one of the greatest investments we can make. We are grateful to Smurfit Westrock for its commitment to the youth of Jonesboro and for partnering with the Town and the Boys & Girls Club to help create greater opportunities for future generations.”
