A 40-foot putt for birdie on the first playoff hole lifted the team of Peyton Mitchell and Dwayne “Snook” Harrell to the title of the Quitman High School Golf Tournament that was played at the Jackson Parish Golf Course to help raise money for the QHS Softball and Golf programs.

Played in a scramble format over the par 72, 18-hole layout, both Mitchell/Harrell and the team of Pete Simonelli and Eli Walker fired rounds of 11 under par, 61, setting up the scintillating final deciding effort. Tay Culpepper and J.D. Trevison shot a 63 to finish in third place.

J.J. Culpepper and Jack Culpepper were declared the First Flight winners on a scorecard playoff after shooting a 69, the same as the team of D.J. Harrell and Bryan Garrett. Another scorecard playoff decided third place in the First Flight, with the team of Marvin and Sharlis Underwood finishing ahead of Mike Simonelli and Wayne Hay after both shot a round of 70.

Yet another scorecard playoff decided the Second Flight, with Ray Walsworth and Daniel Rollinson being declared the winner by having the best score on hole #5 to finish ahead of Richie Stewart and Shannon. Bill and Jonathan DeCou came in third place.

The Quitman High School Athletic Department would like to thank all who participated and have donated to the Softball and Golf teams to help defray costs associated with competing during the 2026-27 school year.
