DART advocate Andrea Malone announces a one-day training class for Jackson, Lincoln, Winn, Grant, Bienville, Union, and Claiborne parishes, to be held from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on August 20th at the Ruston Civic Center.

ThisFREE training session will provide law enforcement, judges, attorneys, prosecutors, social workers, counselors, victim advocates, domestic violence advocates, and other professions with an opportunity to network and receive updated information on domestic and dating violence related laws, dynamics of domestic violence, predominate aggressor, insight on what to do when a law enforcement officer is the abuser, focus on the safety of others and law enforcement, hidden victims and how the communities can coordinate a response to domestic and sexual violence.

Presenters will be Judge Hampton, the Division C Judge of the 3rd Judicial District, whose topic of discussion will be an overview of Louisiana domestic and dating law. Also presenting will be Lt. Mark Wynn, the founder and CEO of Wynn Consulting, who has been a national trainer to police executives, patrol officers, training officers, prosecutors, judges, legislators, social service providers, healthcare professionals, and victims’ advocates for more than 30 years.

Lt. Wynn will cover the topics: this is where I learn not to sleep, in her shoes, beyond the obvious – avoid dual arrest, dominant aggressor determination; finding and helping the hidden victim; violence in the Law Enforcement Family; Domestic Violence Response – Officer Safety Injuries, ambush and fatality; CPR for your CCR.
