Town of Jonesboro Mayor James “Spike” Harris announces that the sidewalk improvement project on Jimmie Davis Blvd. is scheduled to begin soon. The project is being funded by a Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) grant of $1 million, received in 2023.

“This investment is about more than sidewalks. It is about beautification, pedestrian safety, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility, and strengthening our community’s infrastructure,” said Harris. “We are continuing to build on the progress we have made one project, one street, and one investment at a time.”

The project announcement continues the ongoing improvements to Jonesboro’s infrastructure, with enhancements in water and sewage, trash disposal, and street repair that have taken place in the last couple of years.

“There is still work to be done, but Jonesboro is moving forward,” concluded Harris.
