The 121st annual conference of the Louisiana State Firemen’s Association (LSFA) is scheduled for August 4-8 at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge, bringing together firefighters, officers, and industry partners from across the state for training, education, and networking.

Presiding over the event will be Jonesboro resident Mark Treadway, who in 2025 was selected to serve as President of the LSFA, culminating a 36-year career of public service that began as a volunteer firefighter with the Jonesboro Fire Department.

“What an honor this is,” said Treadway. “Being the President of this long and rich fire service history has been one of the greatest accomplishments of my 36 years of Public Service career!”

Highlights of Treadway’s distinguished career include serving as Fire Chief for the Town of Jonesboro, Jackson Parish Homeland Security Officer, Director of the Jackson Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP), Executive Management Officer for the Louisiana Fire Marshal’s Office, and now President of the Louisiana State Firemen’s Association.
