(JACKSON PARISH) The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists that the section of LA 34 south of the Town of Chatham in Jackson Parish that was closed for repair on Saturday, August 9th is scheduled to reopen at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9th.
The closure and subsequent detour for motorists is necessary to allow DOTD crews to replace a cross-drain pipe beneath the roadway. This important work ensures adequate and proper drainage through the area. This pipe is located approx. 2.9 miles south of the intersection with LA 4. (see included map below)
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Appropriate detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
