
On August 5, 2026, at approximately 5:40 a.m., the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Evers Street in Jonesboro. Responding deputies determined that multiple rounds had been fired, with some striking the residence.
JPSO investigators immediately began working the case. Through surveillance footage from license plate readers and other camera systems operating throughout the area, investigators identified a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident.
Later that same day, deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The occupants were identified as Tommy Jordan Branch, Jessie Pearson, Jamorian Harrell, and Xavier Calahan. During the stop, suspected illegal narcotics were located inside the vehicle, resulting in narcotics-related charges against all four occupants.
Investigators continued working the case throughout the day, reviewing available surveillance footage, conducting interviews, and following information developed during the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Tommy Jordan Branch, Jamorian Harrell, and Jessie Pearson were arrested for Assault by Drive-By Shooting. A 9mm handgun was recovered from the residence of Tommy Branch.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
