The National Weather Service issues a heat advisory when the daytime heat index is expected to reach 100°F to 104°F (or higher, depending on local climate criteria) within the next 12 to 24 hours
Safety Tips during a Heat Advisory include:
(1) Drink plenty of fluids and stay in an air-conditioned room.
(2) Stay out of the sun and check on relatives and pets.
(3) Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
(4) Reschedule strenuous outdoor activities to early morning or evening
According to the NWS forecast on Tuesday evening, we may break this triple-digit heat and see small rain chances for at least portions of the Four State Region by late week and into the upcoming weekend. Until then, high wildfire danger will continue.
