The Governing Board of Directors of the Jackson Parish Hospital held its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 25th, with the four-member panel of Chris Bowman (Chairman), Dr. William Slusher, LPN Shontae Mims, and Kim Hutchinson attending to a 15-item agenda.

Also in attendance were Jackson Parish Hospital administration representatives: CEO John Morgan, COO/CIO Dr. Jason Thomas, CFO Bill Stansbury, Chief of Staff Dr. Edward Mariano, Revenue Cycle Director Shelley Malsam, and RN Jerry Allen.

Chairman Bowman called the meeting to order, and the panel approved the agenda and minutes from the July 22nd business meeting. Dr. Marianon then gave the Chief of Staff Report, followed by Dr. Jason Thomas, who delivered the COO/CIO Officer’s Report, which featured four policy revisions regarding infection control. Bill Stansbury then gave the CFO’s Report, which included information on the check register, special checks, and ACH debits for July-August 2026; hospital financials; EKG/Echo/Holter overreads; and Resolution 2026-4, which concerned granting signature and grant agreement authority.

RN Jerry Allen then provided the Clinical Report, which included JPH FCC July 2026 statistics, Jonesboro FCC July 2026 statistics, Chatham Medical Clinic July 2026 statistics, and ED Patient Arrival to First Documentation – July 2026. Shelley Malsam then presented her Revenue Cycle Director’s Report, which included hospital statistics for July 2026.

The Board of Directors then went into Executive Session to discuss Strategic Planning and BCBS changes. Upon returning, the meeting was adjourned following board comments, with Chairman Bowman announcing that the next regular business meeting would be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30th.
