The girls’ and boys’ basketball teams representing Quitman and Weston Junior High Schools will be in action this Thursday and Friday at the Choudrant Junior High Basketball Tournament. All games will be played in the Choudrant High School Gymnasium, located at 2555 Hwy 80 in Choudrant, LA. Schools participating include Quitman, Weston, Choudrant, Downsville, and Simsboro.

The tournament provides a unique experience for both local schools, as this is the first time this year that both Quitman and Weston will field A and B teams in tournament play, giving more players an opportunity to play valuable minutes.

The Weston Jr. High girls bring the best record among Jackson Parish teams into the tournament, having posted a perfect 9-0 record that includes titles at both the Dodson and Quitman Tournaments. The Quitman boys team is next with a 5-2 record, both losses coming last week to tournament host Choudrant, and has a Dodson Tourney championship and a second-place finish in the Quitman Tourney. The QJH girls are 3-3 on the year while the WJH boys have a 1-4 record.
