Safety First! That was the message Jonesboro Mayor James “Spike” Harris conveyed when he met with members of the Town of Jonesboro Public Works Sewer Treatment Operations Division on Tuesday, September 15th, at City Hall.

In preparation for upcoming work to help revitalize the North Oxidation Pond, Harris held the meeting to provide an important safety briefing on sewer treatment operations, including proper chlorination procedures and ensuring the system is operated safely, effectively, and responsibly.

“Our administration believes it is our responsibility to help protect our employees, our wastewater system, and ultimately our community,” said Harris. “Proper training, safety procedures, and accountability matter.”
