The Jackson Parish School District (JPSD) is excited to introduce a new faculty recognition program this school year called “Cheer From a Peer,” celebrating the incredible teachers who make Jackson Parish Schools special! This week, JPSD recognizes Cortney Harvey, a Special Education teacher at Quitman High School, who was nominated for the award by Alana Tolar and Lance Seymore through the submittals shown below.
“Cortney is passionate about her job and does an incredible job supporting her students. She always brings a positive attitude and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure her classroom runs smoothly while ensuring each of her students has what they need to be successful. The work she does each day takes a big hear, and she handles it with such care. We are so lucky to have her.” – Nomination #1
“Mrs. Harvey meets every student exactly where they are, celebrates their successes – big and small – and creates a classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and loved. She is the best at what she does.” – Nomination #2
