New details have emerged from the homicide investigation into the fatal shooting that took place on Cynthia Street in Jonesboro on Monday, September 14th. See below for the updated report filed by the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On September 14, 2026, at approximately 18:41 Hrs. The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call of shots fired in the area of 1504 Cynthia Street in Jonesboro. Deputies responded to 1504 Cynthia Street, where they located a 24-year-old Black male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was deceased. The victim was later identified as Dmarqueon Rashad Nash.
Investigators with the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the location and began processing the crime scene, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and following up on information developed during the initial investigation.
During the early morning hours of September 15, 2026, the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in connection with the homicide investigation. Investigators have identified persons of interest, and investigative efforts remain active and ongoing.
