Another month. Another big event. That is what’s been happening at the Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District ever since partnering with Living Well Foundation and launching the Care360 Community Health Program (CHP). Since receiving funding, JPASD has launched several programs designed to create a healthier, safer, and stronger Jackson Parish.
The CHP began in June with the New & Expectant Mothers Program. Next came the Safe Sitter Course in July, followed by the Street Outreach and Resource Navigation Program in August. Early in September came the Senior Fall Prevention Program, which included JPASD being the first EMS agency in the state to earn the ZIBRIO Balance Specialist certification. Shortly thereafter, the Community Overcoming Obstacles Program (C.O.O.P.) started, and thanks to a generous donation from Dixie Medical in Winnfield, a fully stocked medical closet of items such as wheelchairs, rollators, canes, nebulizer bases, and more is available for use. Just 4 days ago, the final CHP was launched, which is an Autism & Awareness Program that has already supplied one fortunate young man with a new communication tablet, weighted animal, fidgets, body compression vest, and noise-canceling headphones.
To learn more about the Community Health Programs being offered, call the Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District at (318) 259-2877 or visit the JPASD Facebook page, where detailed information on each program is given.
