Quitman High School senior Anna Claire Leach had a banner week. On Wednesday, the daughter of Candice and Ryan Leach was named the QHS 12th-grade Student of the Year. That was followed by Leach being crowned the 2026 QHS Homecoming Queen on Friday night.

“Thank you, Quitman High School, for this amazing opportunity, and to everyone who helped make this night one to remember,” said Leach. “I am so proud to be a Wolverine!”

The vivacious young lady was selected after serving on the Homecoming Court as a Basketball Representative. Leach was presented to the overflow audience prior to the Quitman vs. Choudrant girls’ and boys’ pre-season basketball games that saw the Lady Wolverines take a 70-53 victory, and the QHS boys win by a 77-45 score.
