No one can debate about who has the best junior high softball team in Jackson Parish this year. Not after the Lady Wolves took two games from Quitman on Monday, 5-2 and 6-2, to sweep the “Fall Ball” season series 4-0. WJH also added a win against Choudrant to move to a sparkling 9-0 record.
The two Quitman baseball teams remained undefeated as well with a “double dipping” of Choudrant. The “Blue” team won 6-0 to move to 7-0, while the “Gold” team came out on top by an 8-0 to improve to 6-0 on the year.
In other junior high action, the Jonesboro-Hodge boys basketball team fell 47-32 to Arcadia to drop to 2-2, and the Weston baseball team lost to Simsboro 8-3 to fall to 4-4 this season. The Lady Wolverines of Quitman split a pair against Claiborne Christian, losing 11-4 in the opener and coming back to win the nightcap 9-5 to move to 7-10-1.
