Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) and Gracepoint Christian Academy (GCA), both independent schools in Jonesboro, LA, have basketball games scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd, with CCA hosting the Louisiana School for Math, Science and Arts (LSMSA) out of Natchitoches and GCA traveling to Natchitoches to play Psalms Christian Academy (PCA).
Both local independent schools are in their first year of being an Association of Christian Educators of Louisiana (ACEL) league member. The league comprises 16 independent schools or homeschool-based organizations from across Louisiana, divided into North, Central, South-Central, and Southeast Districts.
The two Jonesboro-based academies are in the 6-team North Division, with CCA competing in varsity boys and girls play, and GCA, in its first year of fielding a sports program, playing a varsity boys basketball schedule. Both play against all other ACEL league schools from across the state, but per guidelines, since this is the first year in the league, neither will be eligible for postseason play.
