Mrs. Millicent Joy Long, age 89 of Quitman, went to be with the Lord April 30, 2020. She did not have many hobbies to speak of as she devoted her life’s work to her loving family and to her career which was being an office manager for over 30 years for North East Louisiana Wholesale Oil and Gas. Those that worked with her knew and admired her work ethic and she proudly led by example. She enjoyed time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband, Allen Davis Long; son, Dr. Cecile Allen Long (Debora); grandchildren, Heather Ann Standifer, Jacob Michael Long, Lucy Allen Long; great Grandchildren, Levi, Darcy, Rowan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Murdic Cecile and Annie (Mangum) Cole; siblings, Dwight Cole, Marie Benard.

A graveside service was held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, near Quitman, at 4:00PM with Reverends Charles Penuell and Joey Anderson officiating. Burial was under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
