

Jerry Glynn Cavett July 01, 1934 – May 26, 2020
Mr. Jerry G. Cavett, age 85 of Jonesboro, passed through the portals of heaven and into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Mr. Cavett was a member of Siloam Springs Baptist Church who had a sweet soul and was a kind a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to many. As he had been a carpenter in the construction industry, after retirement he continued to sidework as a carpenter and with his love of wood he displayed his great talent with artistic wood burning and assorted crafts. He will be greatly missed by his family, church, friends and the community.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Charlene Morrow Cavett; children, Randy Cavett & Mary, Michelle Cavett (Walker) Oglesby; grandchildren, Laurel Brown & Jeremy, Michael Logan Simpson, Walt Oglesby, Amy Gullotta; great-grandchildren, AnaLeigh, Warner, Wyatt, Wesley, Walter James & Annikah; brothers, DeLee Cavett & Gayle, Marvin Cavett & Pat, Marion K. Cavett & Marilyn; sisters, Audie Mae Sandifer, Johnette Fulk & Gary; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Cavett was preceded in death by his parents, Lester & Blanche (Burnum) Cavett; brother, Ronald Wayne Cavett.
A graveside services was held Friday, May 29, 2020 at Mt. Olive East Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Morrow officiating. Serving the family as pallbearers were Lavelle Brown, Randy Cavett, Marion Cavett, Marvin Cavett, Logan Simpson, Jeremy Brown.

Nelda Kaye Maarouf October 15, 1949 – May 29, 2020
Kaye was born October 15, 1949 in Jonesboro, Jackson Parish, Louisiana and died Friday, May 29, 2020, in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. She was preceded in life by her parents: Louie H. Shively and Loyce Marie Dark Shively and her maternal grandparents: Joseph Wheeler Dark and Etta Pepper Dark and paternal grandparents: David Hardy Shively and Leckie Crowson Shively.
She is survived by ex-husband Maisar Maarouf, of Shreveport, Louisiana; her sister and brother-in-law Etta Gwynne Smith and husband Jim Smith of Sunset, La.; and her nephew and his family, Theodore Scott Smith and wife Rachel Crowell Smith, and her great nephews James Hadley Smith and Jack Harper Smith of Arnaudville, La. and two aunts and uncle, Velma Dark of Jonesboro, La. and Wanda Allen and Bobby Allen of Shreveport, La.
She is a graduate of Jonesboro-Hodge High School and Louisiana Tech University. She was really proud of her brick located at Louisiana Tech University. She also did graduate work at the University of Maryland in Baltimore in graphic design and art. She is known for her art work, which she pursued her entire life. Several of her works are on the walls of local restaurants around Shreveport, Louisiana.

Bonnie Jean Walker January 04, 1936 – May 29, 2020
Mrs. Bonnie Jean Walker, age 84 of Jonesboro, Louisiana passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 following a lengthy period of declining health. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Walker; her son, Roy Gene Davis; her parents, Gertrude and Herbert Williams; her brothers, Ralph “Doc” Williams, Aubrey Williams, Barney Williams and J.D. Williams; her sisters, Helen Brown, Margaret Brown.
She is survived by her four sons, Randy Walker (wife, Lena), Ricky Walker (wife, Sheila), Gary Walker (wife, Deanna), Steve Walker (wife, Jan); grandchildren, Michelle Lay (husband, Thomas), Michael Davis (wife, Dana), Bridgett Medaries (husband, Justin), Chad Walker (wife, Lindsey), Jennifer Walker, Allison Walker, Brooke Walker, Haley Walker, Heather Horton (husband, Kyle), Whitney Walker; 16 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bonnie was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She devoted her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother. A graveside service was held at 10:00AM on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Harmony Grove Cemetery, near Gaars Mill. Burial was under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Justin Medaries, Walker Medaries, Michael Davis, Thomas Lay, Chad Walker, Kyle Horton.

Herbert Walsworth August 15, 1940 – May 31, 2020
Mr. Herbert Walsworth, a Jonesboro native and retired real estate appraiser passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Shreveport at the age of 79. He was affectionately known as “Big Papa” to many, loved by all and will be greatly missed. Mr. Walsworth loved and enjoyed time spent with his great grandkids. They were his one true hobby in life!
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Summerlin and husband Steve; his son, Randy Walsworth and wife Stacey; brother, Virgil Ray Walsworth; 5 grandchildren, Holly Gorman and husband Justin, Stacy Bates and husband Jordan, Katy Loftin and husband Cody, Miranda Worthan and husband James, Hannah Allen and husband Isaac; 10 great grandchildren, Tyler, Baylee, Camden, Jackson, Braylon, Ledger, Cullen, Ezrie, Raidan, Avaida; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred C. Walsworth; his parents, Herman Ira and Virgil Mae (Reed) Walsworth; his brother, Wesley Howard Walsworth, Sr.; step mother Rae Walsworth.
A graveside service was held at the Springhill Cemetery with Bro. Steve Summerlin officiating with burial under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Springhill Cemetery PO Box51 Jonesboro, LA 71251.

Ms. Idell Hobdy September 27, 1928 – June 01, 2020
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6th, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Saline, LA to honor Ms. Idell Hobdy, who passed away at the age of 81 years old. Paradise Funeral Home in Jonesboro will handle all services.

Mr. D’Wight Burks August 11, 1990 – May 31, 2020
Mr. D’Wight Burks, age 29, passed away on May 31st. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at 1:00 PM at the Galilee Cemetery in Jonesboro, LA. Services will be provided by Paradise Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
