The faculty and students from Kindergarten through 12th grade will be enjoying one of the best weeks of the school year over the next several days at Quitman High School (QHS) as they continue Spirit Week leading up to the Homecoming celebration on Friday, January 22nd.
As in the past each day will have a special meaning that began with Twin Tuesday where members of the student body found a friend to match with where they dressed alike. January 20 will be Wanna-be Wednesday where participants come to school dressed like people in the profession they hope to be a part of after their school days. Thursday is Class Color Day where each grade comes to school dressed in the color assigned for their class. This year’s color selections are:
12th grade – Blue
11th grade – Pink
10th grade – Black
9th grade – Green
8th grade – Red
7th grade – Orange
6th grade – Yellow
5th grade – Tie Dye
4th grade – Pink
3rd grade – Yellow
2nd grade – White
1st grade – Blue
Kindergarten – Red
Pre-K – Purple
The last day of the week is designated as Freedom Friday where everyone is asked to show their Patriotism by wearing red, white and blue clothing. All outfits should be appropriate for school and adhere to QHS handbook guidelines. No low cut shirts, short pants or dresses and no leggings as pants will be allowed. Capping off the day will be the presentation of the Homecoming King, Queen and Court at the Quitman vs Georgetown basketball game.
