Area batting leaders belting out impressive numbers and earning high ranks

As the baseball and softball season nears the midway point for the three Jackson Parish schools a look at the season stats of each find some very impressive individual numbers. To make thing clear, when using the word “impressive,” there are two players that rank in the top five NATIONALLY, two that are state leaders regardless of classification and several that either lead or are in the top five of their classification. This is according to what is listed in MaxPreps.com, that while they surely don’t have stats for every team in the nation or state, the site is usually is a pretty good gauge of where a player stands and almost always has the tops of a category listed. Again, that is usually. Going by the stats that have been electronically recorded for JHHS, Weston and Quitman this season, there are ten cases where local leaders are not listed and should be. Below is a listing of the individual offensive leaders for each schools baseball and softball teams in the main offensive categories that are kept. Included is shown where a players should be listed in their class, statewide or nationally. It should be noted that when comparing  an individuals stats to another it must be understood that some schools have played a lot more games to date. For instance Quitman’s baseball team has played 16 games while JHHS has only six under their belt and Weston only eight. Jonesboro-Hodge’s softball team is not listed as season stats were not available.
