
The Jackson Parish Dawgs 13u scored four runs in the fourth and fifth inning to blow past Louisiana Havok 9-4 and claim the championship of the Ruston Invitational played March 27th-28th. It was the fourth win in two days for the local travel ball team that opened the tournament by beating Toledo Tornado 8-2 and Bossier City Rougarou 13-6 in pool play before beating BC Rougarou again in bracket play, this time by an 11-3 margin setting up the finals showdown.
JP Dawgs 8 Toledo Tornadoes 2: Cole Tolar, Hudson Pullig, Colten Blundell and Trey Trosclair all drove in runs in the decisive fifth inning to break open a 3-2 contest. Trey Trosclair who struck out three and had an RBI was named the Player the Game. Tolar and Pullig had two RBI each and Kace West walked twice.
JP Dawgs 13 Bossier City Rougarou 6: Player of the Game, Kaleb Negrotto’s inside the park grand slam accounted for four of his five RBI on the day and helped lift the Dawgs to their second straight victory in pool play. The round-tripper was one three hits on the day and accounted for four of his five RBI. Colten Blundell had two hits and Hudson Pulling went two innings and struck out three to gain the win. Maddox Duck also walked three times.
JP Dawgs 11 Bossier City: Jackson Parish came out swinging to score five in the first and fourth innings. Kaleb Negrotto had three hits and four RBI while Colten Blundell had two hits and three RBI to pace the offense. Cole Tolar struck out four batters in four innings to pick up the win and be named Player of the Game.
JP Dawgs 9 LA Havok 4: Kace West struck out six over four innings to lead the Dawgs to victory and earn Player of the Game. Colten Blundell had two hits and Jase Shirley, Cole Tolar and Kaleb Negrotto drove in a pair of runs each. The Dawgs were down 3-1 before the back to back four spots blew LA Havok away.
