Library to host parent meeting for School Board on April 12th

On Monday, April 12th at 6:00pm the Jackson Parish Library (JPL) will host on behalf of the Jackson Parish School Board a parent meeting with JPL Director Floyd Knox as special guest speaker. Know will inform parents of what the branches of the Library has to offer students not only during the school year but in the summer as well. 

SUMMER READING T-SHIRTS ON SALE: The 2020 Summer Reading t-Shirts are now on sale for $3.00. Come get yours while supplies last. Various youth and adult sizes to choose from. Available at both branches.

SNAP and Unemployment Assistance! Ms. Tyanne Williams, Client Services Manager for the Pine Belt Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency will be available for consultation by appointment only from 10:00am – 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 6th. Topics include SNAP and social security benefits, unemployment assistance, Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, social security card applications, commodities and senior food boxes

ART VIDEO AVAILABLE:  Easter is behind us but that does not stop Mrs. Terrye from making art video’s ! Now she is moving on to spring time and nothing says spring time like butterflies and flowers! To see her newest video go to the Jackson Parish Library Facebook page.

ART CLASSES once again be held at both branches over the next two weeks beginning on Monday, April 5th and running through Thursday, April 15th. Classes will run from 4:00-5:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday at the Jonesboro Branch on Monday’s from 4:00-5:00pm at the Chatham Branch. SIGN UP FOR STEAM: Registration has begun for children (Pre-K – 3rd grade) art classes for the month of May that will be centered around the exciting and educational STEAM program. This wonderfully, unique program features fun projects in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. READING EGGS AND MATH SEEDS: Due to the popularity and response received in March this “in-home” program for Pre-K – 7th grade children is continuing through the month of April. If interested in having your child participate please call Ms. Terrye Shackleford at (318) 259-5697.

Monthly personalized delivery of books, audiobooks, magazines and more are available to residents of Jackson Parish, including Nursing Home residents and in-home daycares.
