MEETHE STAFF

When you enter the Jonesboro Branch of the Jackson Parish Library you are always greeted by a friendly face ready to assist you with your needs. When it comes to help with reading material and/or help with references the two that you would normally speak with are La Crecia Kelly and Abbie Massey whose wonderful personalities and knowledge make even the most difficult research easy and enjoyable. 

La Crecia Kelly – Circulation/Reference Specialist Coordinator: This vibrant and multi talented person has been employed with the Jackson Parish Library (JPL) for eight years. You will find her assisting patrons in whatever way she can as she has a passion for helping people. La Crecia likes to come up with creative and positive ways to motivate children and create bonds with the many people she comes into contact with. La Crecia lives by two creeds: Always treat others the way you want to be treated and never judge a book by its cover. She is a native of Jonesboro and married with two children. In her spare time she loves fishing, shopping and decorating.

Abbie Massey – Circulation/Reference Assistant: Born and raised in Ouachita Parish, Abbie is a newcomer to the JPL having joined the team ten months ago. As a front desk worker she is one of the first faces that is seen when someone enters the Library. With a desire to serve, Abbie is always eager to be of assistance with computer help, copying, faxing, finding a certain book or providing information as requested. With a B.A. in Modern Languages her diversity in language and culture helps bring a fresh perspective to patrons. In her free time Abbie enjoys artsy crafts, reading new book releases, photography, listening to Korean pop music and attending concerts as well as being with her loved ones and playing with her pets. When asked what she liked best about being with the JPL she states that she is so very grateful to be a part of a staff that genuinely cares about their patrons and reaching those in the community.

May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th – Pine Belt at 9:00am – 12:00pm (by appointment only)
May 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th – LA Dept. of Health at 1:00pm (by appointment only)
May 15th – Medicare and You seminar at 10:00am 
May 22nd – Marguerite Gray Book Signing from 10:00am – 12:00pm
May 24th – Registration for Summer Reading Program begins
May 25th – Brown’s Hearing from 10:00am – 4:00pm
