QHS finishes 6th at LHSAA state golf tourney – Weston’s Culpepper in top ten

Cam Deal improved 19 strokes on the second day of play and both Joshua Smith and Eli Walker shot better rounds on day two to help propel Quitman move into a sixth place finish in the Division IV state golf tournament held at the Wetlands in Lafayette, LA on Tuesday, May 4th. taytculpepperTayt Culpepper of Weston High was one of only nine golfers to break 80 on the second day to end up with the lowest score among Jackson Parish participants (82-79) and an eighth place finish in the individual standings.  Walker finished in 11th place overall after leading the QHS team with a  two day total of 169 over the par 72, 6348 yard course. Noah Leach and Pete Simonelli rounded out the team.
