Roll Call: D. Slezak, C. Weeks, T. Gunter, K. Spangler, D. Barlow – C. Bowden was absent
Invocation and Pledge: D. Slezak gave the invocation with D. Barlow leading the pledge
Public Comments / Recognition of Guests: N/A
Approval of Minutes of the June 2021 meeting: Motion made by T. Gunter and second by D. Slezak to approve the
minutes as presented. All in favor.
Approval of the June 2021 Financials and Pay Bills: Motion made by D. Barlow and second by K. Spangler to approve the financials as presented. All in favor.
Review Old Business:
a. 2021 Art Contest – Trying to locate judges from outside the Parish
b. Rack card – N/A
c. LA Tourism Conference – T. Gunter is interested in attending

Discuss New Business:
a. Stipend for judges of the art contest – motion made by D. Barlow and second by D. Slezak to create a
stipend of $500.00 for Art Contest Judges.
Other Business:
a. Discuss how to encourage tourism from outside Jackson Parish from those entities asking for funding.
Entities will need provide to how they have promoted the event.
b. The board clarified wording for future use of CEA’s.
c. Discussed the idea of hosting an October Concerts in the Park – Motion made by D. Barlow to present one
concert in the park in October with a budget of $3000.00, second by D. Slezak, all in favor, motion passed.
