Javious Kerrnsky Lajames Holden was born on November 15, 2003 to Laloni Amos (Dontay) and Charlie Holden. He departed his life on July 26, 2021. He was known to his family and friends as “J5”.
Javious, a rising senior, was a football and basketball player at Jonesboro Hodge High School and was described by his family and friends as a laid back kid, always kept a smile on his face, and was able to get along with anybody.
Javious was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Jackie Foster and Willie Green; paternal grandfather, Willie Holden.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving mother, Lalonia Amos (Dontay); father, Charlie Holden; paternal grandmother, Clara Holden; brothers: Diverious (Jenorus) Holden, Sr., and Kurae Cottonham; sisters: Luciana Nears, Tewana Redding, Kiara Cottonham, Jalaila Amos, and Jalonah Amos, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and classmates who loved him dearly.
LaJavion Rahard Nichols
January 18, 2004 – July 26, 2021
LaJavion Rashard Nichols was born on January 18, 2004 to TaSheena Nichols and Jermaine Washington. He departed this life on July 26, 2021. His family affectionately called him “Luda”.
LaJavion, a rising senior, was a football player at Jonesboro-Hodge High School and his coach described him as a leader and heartbeat of the team. LaJavion loved his sister, Jerm, and they were inseparable.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother and father; maternal grandparents, Sheila (Terry) Cottonham and Randy (Beverly) Leonard; paternal grandparents, Ethel Wade and Ike Jones; and a host of relatives, classmates and friends.
LaJermanique Rhaeshun Nichols
March 20, 2002 – July 26, 2021
LaJermanique Rhaeshun Nichols was born on March 20, 2002 to TaSheena Nichols and Jermaine Washington. She departed this life on July 26, 2021. She earned the nickname, “Queen Jerm” at an early age.
Jerm was a 2020 graduate of Jonesboro-Hodge High School. Her love for tigers continued with her matriculation at Grambling State University. Jerm was a proud rising sophomore and boldly shared her “GramFam ‘24” status. She was a dedicated and active team member of the Boys and Girls Club of North Louisiana.
She leaves to cherish her precious and sweet memories, her mother and father; maternal grandparents, Sheila (Terry) Cottonham and Randy (Beverly) Leonard; paternal grandparents, Ethel Wade and Ike Jones; and a host of relatives, classmates and friends.
Syble Irene (Cheatwood) Tyler
March 5, 1935 – August 1, 2021
Mrs. Syble Irene Tyler, age 86 of Cotton Valley, was escorted to Heaven and into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2021. Mrs. Tyler was born in the Saline area and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to her family. She enjoyed cooking and spent a lifetime making biscuits and gravy from scratch for her houseguests. An avid sports fan, she coached softball for many years and was a devoted San Antonio Spurs and LSU fan. She loved playing games and was a worthy opponent, dominating Rook, Canasta, Skip-Bo, and any challenge that allowed her to bluff and think several steps ahead. For all other things, she was usually running just a little behind. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, listening to gospel music, and shopping, filling her home with beloved treasures and showering gifts on her loved ones. Her family adored her mischievous nature and inherited her sense of humor, loving spirit, strong will, and determination. She passed away in her home surrounded by her four daughters and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Johnnita Kaye Tyler-Tillery & Mike, Belinda Irene Reed & Randy, Naomi Gale Adkins & Scott, and Regina Darlene Pryor & Mark; her special chosen son, Jessie Keen & Darlene; her grandchildren, Michelle Canipe & Josh, Andria Tenry & Zach, Kacie Czapla & Ty, Whitney Hargis & Casey, Clint Adkins & Tera, Shane Pryor & Gladys, and Dana Pryor; her six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Aline Tyler and Murle Cheatwood. Mrs. Tyler was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eldon Ray Tyler; her parents, Noah Franklin & Gracie Lee (Phillips) Cheatwood; and her siblings, Nellie, Ellie, Bobbie, Christine, William, Willie, Barbara, and Frankie.
Friends may visit with the family 3-5 pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Old Saline Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 5 pm with Reverend Oliver Marson officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Saline Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
Honoring Mrs. Tyler by serving as pallbearers are Shane Pryor, Clint Adkins, Josh Canipe, Ty Czapla, Zack Tenry, and Casey Hargis
