At the business session of the Jackson Parish Police Jury held this past Monday a letter from Recreation Board President Brent Barnett was brought to the attention of jury members. The gist of the communication was two fold. First the Rec Board asked that the Police Jury not move the money allocated for the construction of the proposed Jackson Parish Riding Arena and Livestock Pavilion. In addition it was asked that the Police Jury release the money that would be matched by the Recreation District so that construction on an access road could get started. Little discussion was held but it is expected that the request is to be brought to a vote during regular session of the Police Jury that will take place on Monday, August 16th.
