Maggie Guyotte and Hallie Kate Pullig combined to pitch a no-hitter and Quitman Junior High scored five runs in both the first and second inning to lift the Lady Wolverines to an 11-1 victory over Weston in the opener of the fall softball season for both teams.
The pair of ace’s combined to throw 41 strikes in 71 pitches while allowing a single walk and striking out ten over four innings of work. Both also helped their cause by getting a hit in two at bats with Guyotte slapping a double for 2 RBI’s and Pullig scoring a run and knocking in another.
Brenna Lamkin stole a base, scored and knocked in a run with a double, while Emma Walker hit a triple and scored a run. Anna Leach stole two bases and scored twice as did Allie Robertson and Avery Watson and both Kinsley Ponder and Addison Fenn got a hit and knocked in a run. Emma Toms added a run and a stolen base.
