When most local residents speak to the Jonesboro Chief of Police, James Harris, they call him “Spike” which is the nickname he was adorned with when he was a young man. From now it would be proper to refer to him as “Doctor Spike.” That is because as of September 13th, Harris has earned a Doctorate Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.
“I believe it is important to always continue to try and move forward and improve your lot in life,” said Chief Harris. “I am very happy to have this finally completed as I have been working toward this day for a long time.”
The Doctorate Degree completes an educational journey that Harris started through Phoenix University over 15 years ago. Prior, he has earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Criminal Justice followed by a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA).
