There wasn’t as many young children to sign up for the fall Flag Football league that the Jackson Parish Recreation Department is offering for the month of October but the ones who are participating are having a blast.
Each Tuesday and Thursday, two games are being played. One is with the younger kids and one with the older bunch. It is an informal setting with the teams being picked each time from among the youth who are there.
“We had hoped for a larger turnout so we could have formed formal teams and created a schedule,” said JPRD Director Tommy Smith. ‘As it turned out though we are having a wonderful time and the kids are really enjoying playing, which is the whole goal of wanting to having the league.”
