Tigers slip past Lincoln Prep 60-57

Tydre Malone and Devontae Mozee celebrated their last basketball game in a couple of weeks by scoring 20  and 10 points respectively to help Jonesboro-Hodge ease past Lincoln Prep. Justin Calahan chipped in with 15 as J-H ran their record to 5-1 and L Prep lost their second straight after seven straight victories to fall to 7-3 on the year. Cameron Joe added 8 and Savantez Phillips scored five. Zion Gray got four.

In other action it was a clean sweep for both Quitman and Weston along with Saline, who had the most interesting contest with Georgia Robinson nailing a three pointer as time was running out to give the Lady Bobcats a 49-47 victory over Simsboro. Robinsion followed that deadly accuracy up with 25 on Friday to help Saline whip Ringgold 62-20.

Weston won handily against Dodson 75-58 on Thursday. Friday was a different story though as both the boys and girls fell to Doyline by scores of 69-44 and 74-71 with the boys game showing first.

Quitman boys ran their winning streak to three straight for the first time since the beginning three games of the year by blasting Castor 75-46 to improve to 9-10 on the year, while the girls pitched the double header sweep by winning 57-44. It is the 8th victory in 9 tries for Quitman.
