Breakout performance highlight week one of JPRD Youth Basketball League play

On Saturday, January 15th, twenty-four games in eight different leagues of the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Youth Basketball League, representing local youth from the ages of 5-14 were played at the J-H Middle School and Jonesboro Hodge High School.  The contests opened the season which will be played each Saturday through the first week of March.  

Highlighting the action were several breakout performances by area stars of the future led by 32 points scored by Jalynn Jiles, who led her Mystics team to victory in the 9-10 girls division. Additional sensational scoring games were achieved by Shane Reed of the Blazers in 13-14 boys play and Channing Grey of the Lakers in 11-12 boys action, who scored 26 and 24 points respectfully. Kace West also broke the 20-point barrier with 21 points for his 13-14 Celtics team.
