Kaprecia “Shy” Cowans opened her junior campaign at the University of Louisiana by placing 17th in the long jump at the Ted Nelson Invitational held at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium on the campus of Texas A & M University.

The versatile 2018 Jonesboro-Hodge graduate who has competed in the triple jump, high jump, 60 and 200 meters earned her position with a leap of 16′ 9 1/2″. Cowans and the Ragin Cajuns will be in action next at the Bayou Bengal held at LSU on February 4th.
