The Jackson Parish Recreation Department (JPRD) is currently taking applications for participants and seeking volunteers to help during the upcoming season of the Legacy League. The league provides a format of competitive softball activity for young athletes with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities.
Games will be played on April 18th, April 25th, May 2nd, May 9th and May 16th. Each game will be held at 5:30pm on Field 3 of the JPRD Sports Complex located on Hwy 4 east of Jonesboro.
To sign a young person up for participation in the league, go to the following site: https://forms.gle/uki10ghHDXS9ToCw9
If you, your club or organization is interested in volunteering please contact Karie Potts at: karie.potts@jpsbschools.us (Please included the dates you will NOT be able to volunteer)
Volunteers should be supportive, compassionate, understanding, encouraging, thoughtful and considerate and should offer as much or as little help as the player needs or wants. Sometimes it is just guidance and positive reinforcement while at other times physical assistance may be needed.
