The 2022 football schedule for Jonesboro-Hodge has been released. Featured is two home games against Class 5A opponents, seven new opponents and the return of a long-time tradition of playing Winnfield in the last game of the season.
The first of the ten games that are scheduled will take place on September 2nd when the Tigers make the long trip to Lake Providence to play General Trass in a battle of the district champions from the two north Louisiana districts last year.
Next up the Tigers will host Class 5A West Ouachita who will be looking to revenge the upset at the hand of JHHS last season. Malone, Lewis commit to Southern-Shreveport, Andrews to Mary Hardin – Baylor
Three more members of the Jonesboro-Hodge High School 2021 Class AA state semi-finalist football team has announced where they will continue their gridiron career. That brings to six the number of players that are slated to play in college next year, a record for the program.
Southern University – Shreveport has now landed half of the JHHS commitments after school record setting quarterback, Tydre Malone and one of his favorite targets last year, JaMarriyea, posted on the social media network Twitter that they would both be a Jag next year. They join Tiger running back Brantrel Thompson, who committed prior.
Javeon Andrews has also made his decision, one that will take him a little further west to Mary Hardin – Baylor University, located in Belton, TX. The Tiger defensive end joins a team that is the defending NCAA Division III national champion and has won the American Southwest Conference football championship for four consecutive years.
