During National Beta Week, the Junior and Senior Beta Clubs at Quitman High School engaged in many community service activities. One of those was collecting baby items for Life Choices of North Central Louisiana. Life Choices of North Central Louisiana is a pregnancy resource center that serves women in the area who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy.
In addition to decision coaching, clients have the opportunity to offset the financial burden of a new baby by getting items through The Hope Shoppe. This program was created to provide Life Choices’ clients assistance with meeting the on-going needs of infants and children up to two years.
Thanks to the generous support and contributions received from our community, this program continues to grow and serve the needs of our clients. The Beta members reached out to family, friends and posted on social media. They were able to collect several packages of diapers, baby food, baby clothes, aspirators and a carseat. The officers delivered their donations to Life Choices and were able to learn more about the organization and how their donations will be used by families in the surrounding areas.
Life Choices had a total of 3,881 client visits in 2021. They provided 368 pregnancy tests and performed 288 ultrasounds, along with 65 fatherhood sessions. 63 babies were rescued from abortion! 181 parenting class visits were also attended throughout the year.
Life Choices is definitely making a positive impact on women and families in our area and the Beta clubs are grateful for the work they are doing and glad to be able to donate to assist in even the smallest of ways.
