Volunteers chip in to beautify downtown for Sunshine Festival

It is a good feeling to see friends and neighbors come together for a worthy cause. That is what has been taking place the last several day as in preparation for the annual Sunshine Festival that will take place on Saturday, April 16th in Jonesboro, volunteers have been diligently working to help beautify the downtown area.  There has also been many who not able to give of their time, gave money to the effort. 

“Very big thank you to those who donated money for plants for the urns on Jonesboro Main Street such as Jonesboro Plumbing, Boundary Solutions, Mercy Medical, Barbara Layfield, Barbara Johnson, Vernie Meeks and Dean Rushing,” said Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce Director, Wilda Smith. “Also thank you to the ladies who assisted in planting flowers, to Randy Layfield for doing repair work and to Warren Bradley for helping Main Street take on a new look.”
