Chatham Town Council Meeting Minutes
April 12, 2022
The Chatham Town Council met in regular session with the following members present: Mayor Gregory Harris, Council members Marvin Davis, Toni Malone, Laverne Mixon, Sue Proffer and Mike Wilson.
Marvin Davis led the Pledge of Allegiance and invocation was given by Mayor Harris.
Sue Proffer offered the motion, seconded by Laverne Mixon, and carried, to approve as read the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 8, 2022.
Laverne Mixon offered the motion, seconded by Marvin Davis and carried, to approve the payment of the monthly bills.
A motion was offered by Marvin Davis, seconded by Laverne Mixon and carried, to adopt Resolution 2022-03, approving the application for loan through the Community Facilities Grant Funding to purchase a excavator and trailer.
A motion offered by Toni Malone, seconded by Marvin Davis, and carried, to adopt Resolution 2022-04, approving the application for loan with the Community Facilities Grant Funding to purchase a diesel single axle water jetter.
A motion offered Marvin Davis seconded by Laverne Mixon and carried, to adopt Resolution 2022-05 re- appropriating fund from Chatham Medical Clinic account to Surplus Fund and changing the name on the account to Water Sector Program Grand (New Hope Consolidation).
A motion offered by Marvin Davis, seconded by Lavern Mixon, and carried, to adopt Resolution 2022-06 agreeing to apply for the 2021-2022 LGAP grant to be used to purchase water meters and supplies
A motion offered by Toni Malone, seconded by Marvin Davis, and carried to adopt Resolution 2022-07 agreeing to apply for the 2021-2022 CWEF grant to be used to purchase water meters and supplies.
Mike Wilson offered the motion, seconded by Lavern Mixon, and carried to accept Mobile Home Permits #2022-01 and 2022-02. Both will be contingent on all the requirements of Ordinance 12-126 being completed before utilities will be turned on.
Toni Malone offered the motion, seconded by Marvin Davis, and carried, to accept the financial statements as presented.
A motion was offered by Marvin Davis, seconded by Laverne Mixon, and carried, to adjourn the meeting.
