If you travel down Cooper Avenue you may notice the new American Flag and pole that is being proudly displayed by the Jackson Parish Museum and Fine Arts Association. The addition as well as the new welcoming sign on the front lawn is part of the continuing indoor and outdoor improvement project orchestrated by the Museum Board in an effort to bring positive attention to the relatively unknown gem of Jackson Parish history.
Spearheading the effort is Board President Barbara Johnson, who offered her gratitude and thanks to the Jonesboro Fire Department and Woodmans Chapter 115.
“We really appreciate the help that Fire Chief Brandon Brown and the volunteers from the Jonesboro Fire Department and our local Woodman’s Chapter,” said Johnson. “We couldn’t have completed this task without them.”
Thanks to the combined work of the Museum Board and the Jackson Parish Tourism Board, the Museum hosted a visit from a group from Minnesota this past week, who was touring the state.
