The 2nd annual Piney Hills BBQ Cook Off will take place Saturday, May 14 at the Wolf Creek Festival Grounds located at 225 Front Street in Sikes, LA. This cooking competition is for the everyday backyard griller. Are you the guy or girl who just loves to get out and cook some good food on the pit for friends and family? Then if you’ve ever wanted a chance to show what you got, this is the place.
Gates will open at 10:00am for the event hosted by the Sikes Wolf Creek Guild. Featured will be a live band, arts and crafts, door prizes, BBQ plate lunches being sold, vendor booths, Kids-Q Hamburger Contest and, of course, the BBQ Cook Off where “blind judging” will determine the winner of the Beef Brisket and Pork Ribs cooking categories.
First place winners will get a check for $500.00 with second paying $250.00 and third receiving $150.00. Trophies and plaques will be given for individual category winners with all proceeds going to Veterans of the Armed Services.
