
When Davis Tolar of Weston High School signed to play baseball at Central Baptist College in Conway, AR this past week it set a new record of a record that broke yet another record. The versatile player who has been instrumental in leading WHS to one of their more successful baseball seasons in recent history is now the tenth athlete from Jackson Parish Schools to have signed a letter of intent to continue their athletic career at a college or university.
Already this year, six from Jonesboro-Hodge, two from Quitman and one from Weston had inked their names on college scholarship papers which was the previous record. When Davis signed the record got upped by one and also acheived an additonal milestone in Jackson Parish prep sports history as now for the first time ever all three schools have had at least two sign scholarship papers in the same year. Central Baptist College (CBC) is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), who has primarily competed in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) since the 2015–16 school year.
